ॐ नम: शिवाय
Advaita simply means not two. Our path is a simple, direct path of self recognition . It is said that only due to divine grace one will have a desire to walk on this path. To recognize our non-dual nature, one has to rise above body and mind identification.
The biggest impediment on this path, however, is our ego. Ego means- I am a man/ a woman, I am so and so, I am beautiful-ugly, I am pious, I am intelligent, I have achieved this etc. All this must be eliminated. Identifying ourselves as a separate self / ego is the root of all ignorance.
When I say “Drop the ego, Drop the mind,” I don’t mean that one cannot use the mind any more. In fact, when we don’t cling to the mind we can use it in a far better, far more efficient way, because the energy that was involved in clinging becomes available. And when you are not continuously in the mind… the mind also gets a little time to rest…
To recognize our true Self and abide in it is simple and effortless state of being as it is our natural state . Any activity or Sadhana one does where the mind has to focus on an object takes us away from our true abode.
Being aware of being aware is the highest meditation and the dissolution of an independent separate self or ego naturally happens with the grace of Lord Shiva.
